This morning we decided to rent a car to move all our stuff to a more connected location, since our little hotel is in the middle of nowhere. We found a really super cheap hotel next to the beach, and we rented one of their bungalows on the sand beach. It is a colorful place in Lamai Beach. New Hut Bungalow
It’s much more touristic area, but it’s easier to manage from there. We had our first season swim, finally and we saw some colorful fishes.
We had dinner in the hotel’s restaurant and it was indeed a really nice day. We also drove up to the Big Buddha temple where we had a nice tranquil walk. The stairs to go up to the Buddha have white and red tiles. The white ones were fresh enough to go up without shoes. There were also some market stands at the beginning of the stairs and a lazy dog laying around.
We also bought our towels ( we traveled without ones) and we plan to donate them at the end of our swimming part of the trip. We also did our first laundry there, since we are travelling really light with just the essential for 6 days.
Driving a car here has been an experience. It was a bit frustrating all this motorbikes riding everywhere with all that chaos and nonsense, but we survived. And it was really comfortable car, so we can’t complain 🙂
