When we did a road trip around the ring of Kerry (south west Ireland), the landscape that caused the biggest impression on us was the one provided by Rossbeigh beach.
It was a rather cold autumn day, so don’t expect images of a tropical beach under the sun. On the contrary, we had seen some light rain in the early morning, and from it came the soft water film that covered the sand. Not so much that our feet would sink on it, but enough for it to reflect the light almost like a mirror.
Because of the cold weather, we had the beach just for the two of us, which was great. It’s really difficult to find a landscape like the one Rossbeigh beach offered that day without anyone around to spoil it.
The ring of Kerry is a short road trip around the south west of Ireland, which can be easily completed in a day or two. You can quickly get there from Cork, the second biggest city in Ireland. If you decide to do this trip (and I recommend it), don’t forget to visit Rossbeigh beach. And bring your camera, because the sand mirror will certainly provide some great pictures.
